Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 24 candy eyes (2 per brownie)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
  5. For frosting, beat softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Mix in milk and vanilla until fluffy.
  6. Pipe frosting onto cooled brownie bars and place two candy eyes on each to complete the mummy look.
