Ingredients
- 12 large eggs
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon black food coloring gel
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
- Place eggs in a large saucepan and cover with cold water by 1 inch. Bring to a boil, then cover and let sit off heat for 12 minutes. Drain and cool in ice water for about 5 minutes before peeling.
- Slice each egg in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolks into a bowl. Arrange egg whites on a serving platter.
- Mix yolks with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe the yolk mixture into the egg whites to form decorative domes.
- In a small bowl, mix black food coloring gel with water until thin. Transfer to a zip-top bag and snip off a corner for piping.
- Pipe concentric circles of the black gel over the yolk domes. Use a toothpick to drag lines from center outwards to create spiderwebs.
- Sprinkle smoked paprika over the deviled eggs before serving.
