Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and thoroughly dried, with stems intact
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or white candy melts
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate melting wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval, until the chocolate is completely smooth and fluid.
  3. Holding each strawberry by its green stem, dip it into the melted white chocolate, leaving a small portion of the red strawberry visible near the stem. Allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  4. Carefully place the dipped strawberries onto the prepared baking sheet. Repeat this process with all remaining strawberries.
  5. Refrigerate the dipped strawberries for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the white chocolate coating is completely set and firm to the touch.
  6. While the white chocolate is setting, melt the dark chocolate chips in a separate small microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  7. Transfer the melted dark chocolate into a small piping bag with a very fine tip cut off, or into a small ziptop bag with one corner snipped to create a tiny opening.
  8. Once the white chocolate is set, pipe two small dots onto each strawberry for the ghost's eyes and an oval or 'O' shape for the mouth, creating distinct ghost faces.
  9. Allow the dark chocolate details to set at room temperature for a few minutes or refrigerate briefly before serving.
